Spy Dragonflies Sneaking Around?

October 11, 2007 / by theworldaroundus

It seems that illegal wiretappings, installing of secret cameras, using satellites (Click Here) to spy on people in their daily lives, planting microchips (Click Here) in the body of soldiers  and …. were not enough, now tiny dragonflies are going on the prowl to sneak on people.

People sighted them while working at an antiwar rally last month. People uttered exclamations of surprise and fear, saying "oh my God, look at those", OR "what the he** is that?" OR "They looked kind of like dragonflies or little helicopters. But I mean, those are not insects".

A Washington lawyer at the rally said "I'd never seen anything like it in my life,". "They were large for dragonflies. I thought, 'Is that mechanical, or is that alive?'

People ask questions like these over similar sightings at political events in Washington and New York. Some suspect the insectlike drones are high-tech surveillance tools, perhaps deployed by the Department of Homeland Security. However, some think they are real, dragonflies.

No agency admits to having deployed insect-size spy drones. But a number of U.S. government and private entities acknowledge they are trying. Some federally funded teams are even growing live insects with computer chips in them, with the goal of mounting spyware on their bodies and controlling their flight muscles remotely.

The robobugs could follow suspects, guide missiles to targets or navigate the crannies of collapsed buildings to find survivors.

But the CIA secretly designed and developed a simple dragonfly snooper as long ago as the 1970s. And given recent advances, even skeptics say there is always a chance that some agency has quietly managed to make something operational.

Robotic fliers have been used by the military since World War II, but in the past decade their numbers and level of sophistication have increased enormously. Defense Department documents describe nearly 100 different models in use today, some as tiny as birds, and some the size of small planes.

For many years now I get the creeps at the sight of those big green shinning flying beetles. I KNOW that they are like spy-bugs. Nature is "smart" these "bugs" (appropriate name..bugs/bugged..anyway)..these beetles fly into things, walls, roofs, people. When they are around I'm inside YUCK, and any other bug I'm OK with???

Thank you for this article and links, I'll go to the links now and read more.

I also read awhile back that the U.S. had these fly/spy things, mosquitoes that could get into a place...bite, and leave the person with symptom of a heart attack and then they die?????

I don't think those fireflies are robots. Summer is coming to a close now and its their time to mate. There have been a lot of Dragonflies in the neighborhood lately. Buzzing around making their last hurrah before winter sets in. They live only for a day....Their size is larger than usual, perhaps its because of the effect of global warming that is increasing their size.
Did you know that some scientists did a study during one of New York's power outages? They found that the pollution levels had dropped drastically during the brownouts. The volume of auto traffic was the same. The factor of the pollution was finally traced back to the power companies. Once they were online again the pollution levels rose again. Something to think about.[OHMY]

Whatever they are, the point probably is that there has been the presence of a concept of spying on other humans for political purposes. Practically, the fact manifests itself in the presence of secret agencies in almost every country of the world even in the 21st century. Can something under the sky be more emabarassing for those who claim to have made the present "free civilization" possible?

You are right. "Hapless humanity" is no longer feeling safe.

    Hello theworldaroundus,

This is a very interesting article. Just when the US proclaim themselves as a nation of democracy, peace, pride and integrity another face exists that shows precisely the opposite. With gains comes a cost; patriotic Americans can boast of their free democratic will and ability but it comes with the exception of privacy exposure. I am sure the government / CIA is behind this.

    Thanks

    Our taxes at work...

No wonder our dollar has shrunk 40% over the last 4 years. Each of those little "Spy Flies" probably cost us millions and, now that We, the People who pay our government to spy on us have figured out the freaky things exsist, they'll be thrown on the scrap pile... [OHMY]

Maybe I can buy one at the Air Force's next public auction.

I double-dog dare you to send the CIA a nice email via their website. Just google search under CIA and you can go into their public site. They even have an email forum for you to use if you have questions for them.

    Here's my suggestion:

Tell the Director, General Michael Hayden that you want to buy a Spy Fly for yourself so you can see how the dear Director is currently harrassing his own IG staff for investigating recent past abuses by agency officials.

Then, ask dear old Mikey this relevant question which WE ALL WANT ANSWERED:

"JUST HOW MUCH LAUNDERED CIA COCAINE COIN DID IT TAKE TO RIG THE 2004 Presidential Election, ANYWAY???" [TONGUE]

google suggestions: skyway communications and cocaine smuggling

florida man testifies under oath about election fraud in ohio

    Happy Bloggin'!!!

And remember: Happiness is a brand new start in the White House...stay out the Bushes and let's keep the Clinton's from dildoing up the Lincoln bedroom.... ..... ..... .... ... [OHMY][OHMY][HEART]
